The owner and principal engineer of Site Consulting Engineers, LLC began providing professional engineering services in land development in 1998. Site Consulting Engineers was later established in the Kansas City metropolitan area to continue that engineering practice with an emphasis on thoughtful, technically sound civil engineering rooted in experience, judgment, and practical design fundamentals. The firm reflects the belief that successful projects are not created by software alone, but by engineers who understand how sites function, how infrastructure is constructed, and how regulatory decisions affect long-term outcomes. Over the past two decades, the civil engineering profession has undergone a major transformation driven by computer-aided design. While CAD has greatly improved efficiency and visualization, its widespread adoption has also contributed to an over-reliance on production tools at the expense of core engineering principles developed through engineering analysis, field experience, and critical evaluation. The result can be over-designed, inefficient, or constrained projects that meet minimum approval standards but fail to represent the best technical or economic solution. Site Consulting Engineers was established to counter that trend. The firm applies traditional economies of design—including grading efficiency, drainage logic, constructability, and system simplicity—using modern analytical and modeling tools to deliver clear, defensible, and cost-effective solutions. This approach frequently identifies opportunities to reduce unnecessary infrastructure, improve performance, and avoid long-term maintenance or compliance issues, sometimes justifying strategic redesign even after initial approvals. In addition to extensive private land development experience, the principal engineer has more than six years of experience in federal disaster recovery supporting Public Assistance programs across multiple states. This experience includes damage assessment, scope and cost development, engineering feasibility review, and evaluation of consensus-based codes and standards. It provides a unique perspective on how infrastructure performs under real-world stress, how engineering and regulatory decisions are evaluated following failure, and how resilient, well-reasoned designs can reduce future risk. SCE also offers technical engineering support for disaster recovery and Public Assistance matters, including damage assessment, scope and cost development, engineering feasibility, codes and standards evaluation, project closeout, and resilience considerations. Today, Site Consulting Engineers operates as a focused, principal-led practice. Clients work directly with the engineer responsible for analysis, design decisions, and regulatory coordination—ensuring accountability, clarity, and technical depth throughout the life of a project.
